A week in Salou

Hey Everyone… I’m back!

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’m just back from my holiday to Salou with my boyfriend so I thought I’d do a little blog post to show you a few photos I took on my week away from home.

On the 13th of July we flew from Edinburgh Airport to Reus airport, this was my first ever time on a plane and I was pretty nervous as to what I was about to experience for the first time. The plane was a lot less scarier than I thought it was going to be, take off can be a little scary but not as scary as I expected. Once you are in the air its fine and it doesn’t even feel like you are thousands of feet in the air!

I’d say that Salou is a great place to visit if you have a family with small children as there is a lot of things to do to keep them occupied during the week such as a little short walk along the main strip opposite from the beach where there are a few shops to buy souvenirs and have a bite to eat. Many hotels offer night time entertainment for both children and adults which is actually really enjoyable and no doubt the children’s songs will get stuck in your head even when you leave!

Our Hotel… The Medplaya Calypso was around a 15 minute walk from the beach and the strip, The entertainment at night was very enjoyable which acts such as Michael Jackson, Dirty Dancing and Grease! The room we stayed in was really clean and tidy and the staff were really lovely! The food was also tasty and had a really good variety. The 4 pools were also very clean and enjoyable for all the family. There were also pool activities such as aquarobics and water polo.

On the First day we took a walk along the main strip and also along the beach.. be aware if you want to visit here… it is a super busy resort, the beach was lovely and sunny and the sand was super soft but also very very hot, enough to burn you. It was just beautiful!

A few days before we left we took a trip to La roca Village just north of Barcelona to do a spot of designer shopping. La roca village is a outdoor designer shopping village which contains shops such as Levi’s, Vans, Gucci, Polo Ralph Lauren and many more! The architecture in this village was beautiful and the weather there was amazing! I had a great time here and would definitely go back again!

On our last night we went for a nice meal at the hotels other restaurant. The food here was delicious. A Buffet for starter and deserts and a choice of a few mains such as chicken and steak. The restaurant was outdoors and had a lovely view over the pool and the entertainment outside.

This week was amazing and I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. The hotel was great and the choice of different shops around the hotel was pretty good too! There were a lot of people trying to sell you stuff along the streets but that happens pretty much anywhere you go so you just walk past and ignore them.. more excitedly….. we found irn bru in the shop around the corner which made us both incredibly happy. The weather in Salou was amazing varying between 26-32 degrees per day so it was roasting!

I had a great holiday but I’m so happy to be back home in Scotland! Thank you guys so much for reading. I’d love it if you could follow my blog.. it would make me super happy.

See ya later! Skye x
